I'll Love You Tomorrow

This past month has been a complete blur! After finishing up the semester, I came home and helped get Kyle all packed to move. We moved all of his stuff up to Gainesville the weekend before Christmas and had a great time arranging everything the way we wanted it.

The next week was pretty stressful trying to get all of the last minute Christmas things done plus Wedding activities. Christmas was even crazier than normal. We've celebrated Christmas with both families for years now, but with Sunday being Christmas everyone's schedule were off. We ended up having to do a lot of things at different times than normal and it was much harder on us than any previous year. Also, neither of our families have ever really had to "share" holidays before, so they don't like that we're not with our family the whole time. We did get this awesome plaque from FSIL for our house!

These past two weeks, Kyle was working trying to make some extra money. I'm so thankful that he thinks about things like that and wants to make sure that we'll be okay starting out. Unfortunately, it kept him from being around much before the wedding and my stress level hit the roof. I really don't like getting upset with people and this whole week I've felt like every detail ended up as a battle. I'll be so thankful when there are no more details to worry about. I feel like all of the details are done, and yet every time I turn around my mom has this whole list of things I just don't think matter. It's been highly frustrating!

Only 1 more day!!!!

And I Need You More Than Ever

I officially finished my internship on Friday and I can't believe how much I miss being there already! We didn't tell any of the kids that I was leaving until Friday and I'm glad we didn't. I was completely the topic of conversation for the whole day. My teacher also announced to them that I was getting married and so the next time they saw me I'd have a different last name. One little boy kept walking around going, "You can't do it, you can't do it Ms. Davis!" When I asked him what he was talking about he said I couldn't get married. He also asked me if "When you get married do you get to hug?" When I told him yes he said, "That's what I thought." Way too precious!!

I have definitely been blessed with having a pretty stress free wedding planning experience. Sadly, that wonderful time has seemed to disappear! I always thought that the hardest part was going to be planning the wedding along with doing my full time internship and taking a class. While there were some times when I was frustrated by it, I didn't have very many problems. Ever since Thanksgiving everything seems to be coming at me full force! I didn't think through the fact that I would be finishing my internship/class, Kyle would have finals, we would be trying to move Kyle up, celebrate the holidays, and finish all the last minute wedding details in the final month. We will be so glad when the wedding is here and we don't have to be thinking about all the last minute details! With Christmas almost here, I know that the wedding will be here before we know it!

Our Lives Would Never Be the Same

I can't believe how quickly this month is flying by!

At the beginning of the month, my wonderful bridesmaids threw me a bachelorette weekend. They rented a condo on the beach and we had a nice, low key weekend just hanging out together. Unfortunately, it suddenly got cold in Florida and we didn't spend too much time laying out. I am so thankful to be blessed with such wonderful friends!

The following weekend, I headed home for my bridal shower. It went really well and I really loved how everyone was able to so easily mingle with each other. It was really cool to see all the different parts of my life come together so smoothly! Kyle and I were also blessed with a lot of great things for our apartment!

I've also newly become addicted to Pinterest! This past weekend, I made numerous things that I found there! The first thing I tried was making popcorn in a plain brown paper bag! Umm...hello, Genius! When I moved into our apartment I realized that there wasn't a microwave. Kyle gave me the one that he had in his dorm, but it's the tiniest thing ever and popcorn bags are too big. Needless to say, this was probably the most exciting thing I've ever come across! It also totally worked! Put 1/4 cup popcorn kernels in a brown paper bag. Fold over twice. Microwave for three minutes and enjoy! I also joined the world of crockpots and made a great honey chicken. I can't wait for it to be colder so I can make a ton of yummy soups and stews! Last but not least, I made a pumpkin cream cheese roll for my work potluck today. Obviously I spent a large amount of time cooking yesterday!

Hey Baby, I Think I Wanna Marry You

Some days you just have to laugh.

Late last night, Kyle joked that I should just call out of my internship because I was up late and knew I would be tired in the morning. Obviously, I would never do that, so I woke up after 4 hours of sleep to go to school. After walking outside into the cold, but beautiful weather that's just started here I turned my key in the ignition and rewarded with NOTHING! I ended up having to call out of my internship since I couldn't get there.

Thank goodness for AAA. Unfortunately, after an hour of waiting they still hadn't showed up. When I called I was informed that they came by, didn't see my car (I was the second car in the lot!!!), tried to call, and not being able to get a hold of me, left! My phone had never rang, the number they had wasn't even close to mine! Over an hour later, AAA finally showed up! Luckily, they were able to easily replace my battery, which was the only problem.

I decided that I would go ahead and clean the apartment since I had the rest of the day free. I put the laundry in the wash and went down to pick it up to put in the dryer. As I'm standing there waiting for the last minute to finish, the power went out on the whole block, locking my laundry into the washing machine. Thankfully, it's a gorgeous day and I was able to open up all the windows and curl up with a book waiting for the power to come back!

I did get to make this really yummy Pumpkin Pie Dip!
It's from The Girl Who Ate Everything, you should check her out! Her's looks so much cuter than mine!

This Could Be Love

Everyone always tells you how quickly time flies when you're planning a wedding, but when we first got engaged I really didn't see how 14 months would fly by. Well, here we are, 2 1/2 months till the wedding and I have no idea where the time went!!! I can't wait to be married and past the planning part of it.

Life seems to be a blur of teaching and work at the moment. I absolutely love my internship, but it is exhausting! It will be nice to have a decently relaxing final semester; I'll only have class three days a week! Despite the craziness I can't imagine doing anything else and can not wait until I have my own classroom!

I Want to Hold You Close

I have been a horrible blogger and there is just so much going on! I completely moved into the apartment and got everything set up. I can't wait for Kyle to be able to move in with me!

I started my full time internship! I'm working in a Kindergarten classroom. It's been very challenging, but I absolutely love it1! I can't wait to finish my program and be able to have my old classroom. The kids are hilarious and I keep meaning to start a compilation of all the great things they have said. One day, when asked what word the sounds i-ce make the student replied, "lets just say hippo!" Sometimes it's just so hard not to laugh! If you need a self-esteem boost you should definitely visit a kindergarten classroom. Not only have my outfits been complimented on a regular basis, but I have been told I look like ICarly, am a little boy's 'girl/honey', and have been told numerous times a day that I'm loved.

One weekend, we threw one of the girls in our cohort a baby shower. She's expecting a little boy named Landon at the end of the year.

Kyle and I were able to pick out our wedding bands and the tuxes this past month!

We also went to my Uncle's wedding this past weekend. It was nice to have Kyle up here for the long weekend! We also got to see my whole family, which always seems to be full of craziness! Apparently, now that my cousin's married and I'm engaged we're allowed to be in on the drama. The two of us were pulled aside multiple times throughout the night for someone to tell us about something going on that we shouldn't tell anyone about...No wonder there's no secrets in my family!

We'll Be Holding On Forever

This has been one of the craziest weeks ever. First, last Tuesday night, I was cooking dinner and a pan of oil caught on fire. Luckily, no one was hurt! The damage was no where near as bad as it could have been thanks to the sprinkler in the kitchen going off almost immediately. Mostly we were able to clean all the smoke and off of everything and re-paint the kitchen.

The next day, my parents came up because I was moving. Of course, the fire happened less than 2 days before I moved out... They were able to help me move all of my stuff out of the apartment and clean everything. It took much longer than we planned because I wasn't allowed to stay in the apartment and they made us move everything out of the kitchen and living room. Since two of my roommates are staying there, there was a lot of stuff!

We spent the next few days packing, moving, cleaning, and painting. Kyle was able to come up as well and help out with everything. It's been a lot of work, but I am officially moved "our" new apartment. I just need to finish organizing everything and unpacking. We still don't have internet at the new place and they said it might not be till the 11th, over two weeks from the day we ordered it!!!

Kyle and I FINALLY got to see Harry Potter this weekend! He paid :)

I'll Hold the Lock and You'll Hold the Key

I officially finished the Harry Potter books in time so Kyle has to pay for the movie! I cut it pretty close at the end though! I've spent way too much time reading about wizards these past weeks, I told Kyle I wished he could apparate so I would be able to see him more often. I've also made multiple references to 'accio' and 'scorgify' which had Kyle commenting that it was sad I knew what the spells were. I can't wait to see the movie, but it'll be really sad for 14 years of my childhood to be over. I can't believe I've been reading about Harry Potter since Elementary School!

I finally jumped on the Glee band wagon, and I have to say I can't believe it took me this long to start watching it!! I love it! I've been listening to the soundtracks almost constantly as I've been packing up this week. I have boxes everywhere, I'll be happy to get everything moved next week!!

I found a tutorial for these really cute corner bookmarks. Considering most of my boxes are books this sounded like the perfect craft for me. Here's the one I'm currently using! I just started The Help and can't put it down!

Wedding wise, we finally found a DJ for the wedding! That was the biggest weight on my shoulders, so I'm so thankful my friend Brice is able to do it for us!

I'll Be Your Strong and Steady

This past week has been pretty slow! I went home last weekend to spend a few days with my family because my brother had a week off of school. He goes to a year round college and they only have a few weeks off a year, so whenever he's off I try to be able to see him. While I was home Kyle and I were able to start our pre-marriage counseling. I think it went pretty well, we both already knew what our strengths and weaknesses were. I think this will give us a great opportunity to work on things that we just haven't had to deal with living so far apart.

I also bought my wedding shoes and they came in this week. I absolutely love them!!! I have now bought my entire wedding outfit online!
I'm currently dog sitting for my parents while they go on vacation. Despite the rainy days that have dominated this week Brinkley is loving the rain! He's such a crazy dog! I've never met a dog who loves water as much as he does!
After a particularly rainy walk!

But I am the Chosen One!

Kyle bet me that I couldn't read all 7 Harry Potter books before the movie comes out.
 CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

I Love it When You Read to Me

This will be me moving!

Take My Hand

Yesterday I began the dreaded task of packing up my apartment. After living in the same place for most of my undergrad career I have my work cut out for me. It's been hard to know where to start since I'll still be here for a few weeks. I decided to start by packing up all the stuff I wanted to save but wouldn't be putting up in my "big girl" apartment. While in the process of this, I stumbled upon some long forgotten pictures of me and my best friends. And when I say long forgotten I mean I was still in glasses and braces in some of these pictures, not my best stage....
 Jess's 13th Birthday
Easter '02 at the Behr's, a tradition still today
 Chili Cook Off '05
"Shower Party" at GCCC one year we were counseling.
We tried to see how many people could fit in the shower and still shampoo their hair.
Grand total = 5

I love these girls so much and have more memories with them than I can count. God has blessed me so much by bringing them into my life when I was only 7 years old. I'm so thankful that they're still a part of my life and are here with me during this next stage of life. Now if only their boyfriends would get their acts together and propose already!

After spending all that time packing and cleaning I decided to reward myself with baking. If you love to bake and have seen Joy the Baker's blog, you're missing out! I stumbled upon her, quite literally, a few months back and have had this wonderful recipe for Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread saved for a while now. Next time I'll need to make sure there are others around when I bake it. It's much bigger than I expected and since I don't eat very many sweets I barely made a dent in it. It takes awhile with all the time you spend waiting for it to rise, but so worth it. Wait for a rainy day like I did and you'll be just fine. This was also my first experience using active dry yeast, and I was quite proud of myself!

Wishin' and Hopin'

This past week Kyle came up for a visit. Since I had just finished summer classes and had a few days off of work it was the perfect time. We were able to get a lot of wedding stuff done as well as spend time together.
The save the dates that I ordered a little while ago came in and I was pretty happy with them. With them also came a car door magnet, large magnets, thank you cards, a calendar, and bags for both of my flower girls. I always love getting mail!! We were able to address, stamp, and send them off this week. It felt like such a huge weight off my shoulders to have them out because not only does that mean that our guest list is set, but it makes the wedding feel so real!
Kyle and I also went and picked out the colors that we wanted to do in the apartment, something we had been talking about for awhile. We decided on doing black and white in the kitchen with red accents. Since I'm studying to be a teacher I wanted to put apples in the house somewhere since apple items have already been appearing as gifts. For the bedroom and bathroom we chose chocolate brown and a light blue. Since we want to do all dark wood furniture we decided to keep with the dark brown and add a light green and cream color for the living room.
Once we had our colors in mind it was time to register! We went to bed, bath, and beyond first and had a great experience. One of their employees comes around with you and helps you pick out everything you need. It was really nice to have someone there to walk us through what would have been an overwhelming experience otherwise. After spending hours there we decided to hold off on Target till the next day. When we went to Target we were able to add on the things we didn't find at BB&B as well as switch out some items we liked better.
Other than wedding stuff, I got a chance to experiment with some new recipes. I love cooking and baking, but it's just not as fun when it's only for yourself! We tried Cheesy Chicken, Bacon and Avocado Quesadillas, but they were a lot harder to make than I anticipated. Everything kept falling out! Next time I think I need either a bigger tortilla shell or smaller pieces of chicken. Kyle even tried one with avocado in it and didn't think it was too bad! I also tried out a Pizza Braid. It was very simple to make and really good! Sadly, my braid didn't stick together as well as I would have hoped near the end, but hopefully next time will be better!

You and I Were Meant to Be!

So much has been going on! This week I finally finished my summer classes, so I am officially on break until August. It's so nice to have some time off to actually focus on wedding plans. It's amazing how quickly the time is flying, we are now officially over halfway through the engagement and under the 200 day mark.
Our engagement pictures came in the mail this past weekend and I was thrilled with how they turned out! Our Pictures!
We were also able to finally finish our save the dates. They should be here any day now so we can get those sent out!

Lots of things are coming together and I'm excited to see how everything turns out!
Now I just have to sit through the rest of this boring day of work and then I get to spend a wonderful few days with Kyle. I can't wait till he gets here!
