But I am the Chosen One!

Kyle bet me that I couldn't read all 7 Harry Potter books before the movie comes out.

I Love it When You Read to Me

This will be me moving!

Take My Hand

Yesterday I began the dreaded task of packing up my apartment. After living in the same place for most of my undergrad career I have my work cut out for me. It's been hard to know where to start since I'll still be here for a few weeks. I decided to start by packing up all the stuff I wanted to save but wouldn't be putting up in my "big girl" apartment. While in the process of this, I stumbled upon some long forgotten pictures of me and my best friends. And when I say long forgotten I mean I was still in glasses and braces in some of these pictures, not my best stage....

Easter '02 at the Behr's, a tradition still today

"Shower Party" at GCCC one year we were counseling.
We tried to see how many people could fit in the shower and still shampoo their hair.
Grand total = 5

I love these girls so much and have more memories with them than I can count. God has blessed me so much by bringing them into my life when I was only 7 years old. I'm so thankful that they're still a part of my life and are here with me during this next stage of life. Now if only their boyfriends would get their acts together and propose already!

After spending all that time packing and cleaning I decided to reward myself with baking. If you love to bake and have seen Joy the Baker's blog, you're missing out! I stumbled upon her, quite literally, a few months back and have had this wonderful recipe for Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread saved for a while now. Next time I'll need to make sure there are others around when I bake it. It's much bigger than I expected and since I don't eat very many sweets I barely made a dent in it. It takes awhile with all the time you spend waiting for it to rise, but so worth it. Wait for a rainy day like I did and you'll be just fine. This was also my first experience using active dry yeast, and I was quite proud of myself!

Wishin' and Hopin'

This past week Kyle came up for a visit. Since I had just finished summer classes and had a few days off of work it was the perfect time. We were able to get a lot of wedding stuff done as well as spend time together.
The save the dates that I ordered a little while ago came in and I was pretty happy with them. With them also came a car door magnet, large magnets, thank you cards, a calendar, and bags for both of my flower girls. I always love getting mail!! We were able to address, stamp, and send them off this week. It felt like such a huge weight off my shoulders to have them out because not only does that mean that our guest list is set, but it makes the wedding feel so real!
Kyle and I also went and picked out the colors that we wanted to do in the apartment, something we had been talking about for awhile. We decided on doing black and white in the kitchen with red accents. Since I'm studying to be a teacher I wanted to put apples in the house somewhere since apple items have already been appearing as gifts. For the bedroom and bathroom we chose chocolate brown and a light blue. Since we want to do all dark wood furniture we decided to keep with the dark brown and add a light green and cream color for the living room.
Once we had our colors in mind it was time to register! We went to bed, bath, and beyond first and had a great experience. One of their employees comes around with you and helps you pick out everything you need. It was really nice to have someone there to walk us through what would have been an overwhelming experience otherwise. After spending hours there we decided to hold off on Target till the next day. When we went to Target we were able to add on the things we didn't find at BB&B as well as switch out some items we liked better.
Other than wedding stuff, I got a chance to experiment with some new recipes. I love cooking and baking, but it's just not as fun when it's only for yourself! We tried Cheesy Chicken, Bacon and Avocado Quesadillas, but they were a lot harder to make than I anticipated. Everything kept falling out! Next time I think I need either a bigger tortilla shell or smaller pieces of chicken. Kyle even tried one with avocado in it and didn't think it was too bad! I also tried out a Pizza Braid. It was very simple to make and really good! Sadly, my braid didn't stick together as well as I would have hoped near the end, but hopefully next time will be better!

You and I Were Meant to Be!

So much has been going on! This week I finally finished my summer classes, so I am officially on break until August. It's so nice to have some time off to actually focus on wedding plans. It's amazing how quickly the time is flying, we are now officially over halfway through the engagement and under the 200 day mark.
Our engagement pictures came in the mail this past weekend and I was thrilled with how they turned out! Our Pictures!
We were also able to finally finish our save the dates. They should be here any day now so we can get those sent out!

Lots of things are coming together and I'm excited to see how everything turns out!
Now I just have to sit through the rest of this boring day of work and then I get to spend a wonderful few days with Kyle. I can't wait till he gets here!
